The 41-year-old man, of Tel Aviv, suffered stab wounds to his face and neck after the attacker, reportedly an employee of the holiday resort, entered the man’s hut, where he was sleeping with his family, and attempted to rob him.

The robber was surprised when the Israeli awoke, and assaulted him with the knife before escaping.

The family were staying at a resort on the Bir-Sawar beach, which is located south of Taba, in eastern Sinai.
