Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman attacked the upcoming Durban 2 conference as ‘racist’, claiming Iranian President’s presence at the conference proves convention’s goals biased against Israel:

“An international conference to which a racist such as Ahmadinejad, who preaches day and night in favor of Israel’s destruction, has been invited to attend and give the main speech is proving its aim and its character,” Lieberman said in a statement.

He also added:

“Israel cannot ignore the fact that the conference attended by a serial Holocaust denier is taking place precisely on the day in which the Jewish people mark Holocaust Remembrance Day,” the foreign minister added.

Lieberman also sent his regards to the nations boycotting Durban 2, among them US, Holland, and Italy, calling other nations to follow suit.

Some Israeli Palestinians will attend the Geneva conference; heading the delegation is Israeli MK Jamal Zahalka, who decided to attend both the conference and a ‘pre-conference meeting’ dealing with Israel’s racism against Palestinians.

Zahalka is slated to attend a pre-conference meeting of the Arab delegations to the conference, during which the debate is set to focus on racism towards Palestinians. Zahalka said he would raise the issue of the “official racism” Israel employs against the Palestinians.

What obviously will not be discussed is Palestinians’ racism against Israelis and the Jews. Topics such as Hamas calling for murder of all Jews will not be discussed by Zahalka.
