DOZENS OF ISRAELI supporters protested the ‘Seven Jewish Children’ play, currently performing in Melbourne, Australia.

The play – according to British The Guardian – reflects division within Israeli society on issues ranging from the Holocaust to Israeli wars for survival. Guardian, however, publishes several quotes we can use to understand why it caused an uproar in the Jewish world. For example: “Tell her we’re the iron fist now, tell her it’s the fog of war, tell her we won’t stop killing them till we’re safe”.

Mind you that besides a thousand or two radical right-wing activists, no one in Israel supports killing Palestinians (unlike the other side, which indoctrinates its children into shahada daily). Moreover, 58 per cent of Israelis support the two-states peace deal with the Palestinians.

Back to our subject: according to same news report, the situation blazed when several members of pro-Palestinian audience attempted to confront the demonstrators. According to eyewitnesses, one member of the audience shouted in Arabic: “We will throw all the Jews to the sea”.

Eventually, police forces had to intervene in order to separate the two sides.
