Comment of the day

Posted: June 10, 2009 by Jonathan Boyko in Israel

READING THIS WEEK’S TIME magazine, I stumbled upon this comment, relating to a story a week and a half ago, about Pope’s arrival to Israel. Some criticized the article, some admired, but I was surprised this made to the Inbox section of TIME:

While being ruled by so-called moderate Muslims, the Christians in Bethlehem have been mistreated and forced to flee. Pope Benedict knows that Israel is the only place in the Middle East where Christians are safe, free and growing. He also knows that the two-state solution, in its current form, would lead to the annihilation of Israel. I pray Roman Catholics will challenge the Vatican to change direction on the very dangerous road it is traveling.

I could not have said it better, although, Ivar – this blog’s contributor and author of News that matters probably could.

    Whats at stake here?

Is the Jewish Messiah a Zionist, who supports Jews who claim that God of the Bible did give Eretz Israel to the Jewish people?

If the state of Israel, is only a political invention, it might be dissolved by a political majority.

The Pope in Rome is not a Zionist, but believe that the Messiah did change his mind, and shifted his base from Jerusalem to Rome. Therefore the state of Israel is rather irrelevant for God of the Bible.

  2. I might be dead wrong in this one, but I view it more as the Church losing its way. It actually happens among Israeli Jews as well, in the ultra-orthodox community. Too many opinions, too few common sense.

The Roman Catholic Church could be an example for its followers (and for many it is). Yet, many Christians also do not want to see themselves persecuted by other faiths, thus the Church will have to take a tougher position one of those days, or risk losing much of its support.

Thanks for publishing this important comment.

The Roman Catholic Church is corrupt. This does not mean that all Roman Catholics are corrupt.

A look behind the curtain in Rome, has always displayed an enemy of the Jewish people. But there will surely be poor and uneducated Catholics that have never heard about Jews. And quit a few of the, that does not believe in the infallibility of the Pope.

But since the Vatican is based up on two doctrines, about Papal infallibility and Apostolic succession back to the Apostle Peter, you are no longer a «good» and acceptable Catholic if you belief this is a lie.

You might be surprised that half of my family are Roman Catholics. This will not stop me from loving Israel, Believing the Jesus of Nazareth is the Jewish Messiah, and exposing fake and falsehood in Rome.
